Social media, YouTube, donation / membership implementation as well as a geography component (people ask about their relatives and their home’s history.)
Long-term Historical Impact
As Church Historian for Port Elizabeth United Methodist Church, I researched
and wrote the 225th-anniversary history booklet (2010). That work provided
the documentation was one factor that led to the congregation’s designation
as United Methodist Historic Site #511 (dedicated 2016).
Digital & Community Service
- Level 8 Google Local Guide (75+ South Jersey businesses and historic sites enhanced with original photography and verified data – millions of views)
- Owner, Prohowich Consulting LLC – Freelance (2018–present): pro-bono Google Business Profile optimization, professional photography, and digital preservation for local organizations
Education & Background
- BA Mathematics, Rutgers University 1994
- 30+ years blending education, technology, and historical research
- Former full-time and long-term substitute teacher (K–12 mathematics & science)
- Experienced with Zoom instruction, OBS Studio video production, learning management systems, and GIS tools.
I believe the past isn’t behind us – it’s under our feet and in the stories
we choose to preserve. Whether mapping a 150-year-old deed, photographing a
forgotten landmark, or helping a small business get found on Google, I’m
driven by accuracy, clarity, and community.
Feel free to reach out – I’m always looking for the next story worth saving.
I attend formal and informal conferences on technology and education.
